The quick enquiry form asks for your name and phone number, and optionally the type of work and a short description. The contact form also needs a message. The booking form asks for rather more, because it is arranging a visit: property type, the issues you tick, a preferred date and time, and your name, email, phone and address. Nothing on this site asks for payment details.

Phone is the field this business actually acts on, so that is the one that is always required.

One thing only: so Dave can call you back about the roofing work you enquired about. Your details are not sold or rented, and are not passed to other roofers or to lead brokers.

Submitting a form does not sign you up to a mailing list, because there is not one.

A submitted enquiry is stored in a database on this website's hosting platform (Cloudflare) and emailed out through an email delivery service (Resend).

The email goes to AGMM, the agency that builds and runs this website for Boardman Roofing, who pass it to Dave. It is worth saying plainly rather than leaving you to assume it arrives in Dave's inbox directly. AGMM handle it only to run this site and to get your enquiry to him.

There are two separate things going on here, and they are treated differently because one of them stores something on your device and the other does not. It is worth setting both out plainly.

Counting, which happens for everyone. Whichever button you press, the site keeps a simple count of which pages are viewed and which buttons are pressed, including calls, WhatsApp messages and emails started from this site. That record holds only the page address, the type of action and a five minute time slot. It sets no cookie, reads nothing from your device and stores nothing that identifies you, so it cannot be tied back to a person or a visit. It is how Dave knows whether the site is working at all, and it is why the count is honest rather than covering only the people who accepted.

Measuring a visit, which happens only if you accept. If you press Accept, the site stores two random identifiers in your browser: one that lasts until you clear this site's data, and one that is thrown away when you close the tab. Neither contains anything about you. They are random, generated on your device, and they exist so that a series of actions can be recognised as one visit rather than as a dozen unconnected ones. Alongside them the site records which sections you scrolled to, how long you spent actively on a page, and where you tapped as a rounded percentage of the screen. It never records what you type. Anything you enter into a form is deliberately excluded, and the pages that show Dave his own enquiries are excluded entirely.

This information is stored by Boardman Roofing on its own systems. It is not sent to an advertising network and it is not used to build a profile of you or to follow you to other websites.

Google Analytics is separate again, and also runs only if you press Accept. It does not load at all otherwise.

Changing your mind. Use the button below to change your answer at any time. Your answer is remembered in your own browser. If you press Decline, nothing is stored. If you had accepted and later decline, the two identifiers described above are deleted from your browser straight away and the site stops recording your visit. Whether you accept or decline, the fact that the question was answered is counted, with no record of who answered it. That is how Dave knows what proportion of people the detailed figures actually cover, which matters because it stops him mistaking a small sample for the whole picture.

Change your cookie choice

Enquiries are kept while they are useful for the job and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you call back about the same roof. If you would like your details removed sooner, ask and they will be deleted.

The visit measurements described above are kept for 90 days and then deleted. The anonymous counts, which identify nobody, are kept for a year so that one winter can be compared with the last.

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Contact Dave and it will be dealt with.
