The chippings wash into the outlet, the top layer blisters where trapped moisture expands, the bond lets go at the laps, and the upstands crack where the felt turns up a wall. Once it blisters throughout, renew the covering and correct the falls.

There is no single best system, only the best one for your roof. Fibreglass laid wet and cured in place gives a continuous surface with no joints at all, and it suits small areas, dormers and balconies where the detailing is fiddly.
